As I sit down to write, I find myself reflecting on a question I often encounter: “So you’re talking about God now… you’re so fake.” It’s a comment that stings, but it also highlights a crucial aspect of my journey—authenticity in my faith.
For many years, I lived in survival mode. Life was a whirlwind of challenges, mistakes, and moments that left me feeling unworthy. In the chaos, it was hard to get to know myself, let alone God. I often felt trapped in my past, haunted by decisions that weighed heavily on my heart.
However, everything began to change when I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I started going to therapy, a space where I could confront not only my struggles but also the person I wanted to become. It was here that I realized the importance of facing both the good and the bad within me.
As I explored my character and values, I also began to dig deeper into my relationship with God. Understanding him as an adult continues to be a transformative experience. I learned that my past does not define me but shapes me. Embracing my mistakes became a path to understanding God’s grace and love.
Getting to know God has illuminated so much about His character and His incredible plans for each of us. I discovered that faith is not about perfection but authenticity and vulnerability. It’s about facing the complexities of life with honesty and seeking connection with a higher purpose.
I invite you to reflect on your journey. How has your relationship with God evolved? Have you ever felt unworthy, and how did you navigate those feelings?
Let’s foster a community where we can share our stories, support one another, and grow together in faith. Your journey is valid, whether it’s filled with doubt or certainty.
Thank you for joining me on this exploration. Let’s embrace the beautiful complexity of our faith journeys together.
