Yep, that is what our family did in August 2021. The first time we visited Little Leaf Big Bear property, my husband saw all the work, time, and energy it would take while I was in the background, spinning around and coming up with all the possibilities for this place. I stopped spinning, and the truth of money, time, and energy cleaning out the overgrown forest, painting, and adding our family touches became real. We still have a lot of work to do to give this place all our love. So, before you say those 12 words... I just want to buy land and get away from it all... Remember these words. IT COMES WITH A LOT OF WORK AND LIFESTYLE ADJUSTMENTS.

By "modern," we mean using knowledge and methods from the past and making them work in a modern context in day-to-day life in the 2020s. For us, modern homesteading means living in harmony with nature and the change of seasons.

Little Leaf Big Bear Farm has become a place that provides another perspective on the quality of life. It is a safe place to heal and reconnect with nature and each other as family, to grow, cry, and laugh. Little Leaf Big Bear Farm provides our family with the space to be humbled and appreciate the blessing that God has given us.
Modern Homesteader
Our farm is currently set up to be self-sustaining for a week or two, pending weather. Our flock consists of free-range Ducks and Geese and protected free range Guinea, Turkey, Chicken, and Rooster.
There is still a lot of work to be done on the farm, but we have learned that the workload has its own timeline when it comes to adding our family and farming designs. Everything will get done when it gets done.
