Yep, that is what our family did in August 2021. The first time we visited Little Leaf Big Bear property, my husband saw all the work, time, and energy it would take while I was in the background, spinning around and coming up with all the possibilities for this place. I stopped spinning and the truth of money, time, and energy cleaning out the overgrown forest, painting, and adding our family touches here and there became very real. We still have a lot of work to do to give this place all our love. So, before you say those 12 words... I just want to buy land and get away from it all... Remember these words. IT COMES WITH  A LOT OF WORK AND LIFESTYLE ADJUSTMENTS.

“I'm not telling you it's going to be easy - I'm telling you it's going to be worth it.”
― Art Williams.

Have you ever said... "I just want to buy land and get away from it all".

We are learning more and more every day about homesteading. Wikipedia states, "Homesteading is a lifestyle of self-sufficiency. It is characterized by subsistence agriculture, home preservation of food, and may also involve the small-scale production of textiles, clothing, and craft work for household use or sale." For us, homesteading is a place of adventure and peace, and the famous quote for the season is, "Oh wait, is that a snake?" We haven't yet gotten to the part where we live off the land. As you follow along, you will better understand our little farm's learning curves, hopes, and dreams toward homesteading.

Be sure to follow along as we share our family and solo travel adventures. From what we pack to how we go with the flow, no travel story would be complete without "Well that happened." We decided years ago that the best gift we can give each other is adventures. Adventures bring out family dynamics and individuality. They also allow hands-on experience with different aspects of life and cultures.

Our Christian views, beliefs, ways of healing, coping skills, and learning styles have taught us to be different. Add a little bit of spice of Depression, Complex PTSD, Anxiety, ADHD, and other fun elements. There you have it, folks, a non-perfect family trying to live life every day. God has us in a season of character development; Sickness has a way of humbling you to an unexplainable faith.
