Too Much Noise

Navigating through 1 and 2 Kings has been a challenging experience for me, especially when I don’t implement the necessary boundaries. One crucial step I took was putting my phone away.  I even had to delete social media from my phone.

I realized I didn’t want my device to become an idol. I don’t want my life to be a show, chasing after likes and validation. I got so caught up in sharing our journey that, to be honest, I lost sight of my goals. It hit me so hard that I needed to break down my goals and ensure they aligned with what God wants me to do.

Reflecting on my journey, I realized I was becoming no different from some of the Kings I read about—distracted and misaligned. I didn’t start this journey to lose sight of God and who I am becoming.

The past few years have taught me what it’s like to go ahead of God without seeking alignment with Him, which ultimately led me to feel like I lost everything. I never want to feel that way again; I don’t think I could recover.

As a result, our farm will not follow the trend of every other farm or try to rush into adding what takes farmers years to cultivate. For now, our family is perfectly content with starting a small fowl farm, supporting local homesteaders, and enjoying the simple pleasures of buying clothes from stores and dining out when possible.

I am in no hurry to rush into what God wants for our family. I cherish the slower pace and the peace that comes from trusting Him and taking one step at a time.

This experience has also reminded me of the importance of clarity and purpose. I’m committed to refocusing on my faith and the path ahead, leaving behind the noise that distracts me.

So, if you find yourself overwhelmed by too much of everything—anything that prevents you from hearing God and following His guidance one step at a time—take a moment to pause. Turn off your phone, write it out, and breathe. This simple act can help you regain clarity and reconnect with your purpose.
